Energy Efficiency

O'Grady uPVC is proud to offer "A" Energy Rated windows for the highest standards in energy efficiency. "A" rated windows will lower your heating costs, help the environment and increase the value of your home. After stringent evaluation our premier class windows were awarded an "A" rating by NSAI Agrément under the Window Energy Performance (WEP) Certification scheme. O'Grady uPVC is one of only five companies nationwide who currently offer "A" rated windows (as at 2 April 2010). We can also offer "B" rated windows to our customers.

The NSAI website has information on its Window Energy Performance Certification scheme here.

We achieved our windows' high rating by utilising high performance glass and uPVC profile systems. Vista Therm Elite SE triple glazed unit is the latest innovation from Carey Glass and offers the highest level of insulation in the market with a U value as low as 0.7, a full 260% increase on a standard double glazed unit using ordinary clear float glass. Meanwhile, Careys' Vistatherm Elite double glazing performs up to 136% better than standard double glazing and offers a cost-effective alternative. Multi-chambered Liniar profile adds to the overall thermal efficiency of the window unit by reducing the 'cold-bridging' effect.

Aesthetics

A wide choice of window designs and colours are available to enhance your house with only the most technologically advanced materials used in order to guarantee energy effiency, security for your home and safety for your family.

With such a broad range of options available, there's no need to compromise on any aspect of your window units.

Designs

Side-hung, top-hung and tilt-and-turn sashes can be provided as well as French windows where both side sashes open out. The old favourite Georgian style bars are, of course, available; with the option of having the bars either within the glass or as profile, external to the pane. Leaded glass effect and stained glass panels can add interest to feature windows while opaque glass offers privacy where required.

Bay or bow windows are a beautiful addition to any traditional style home, while large angular windows can make a dramatic impact in a more modern design.

Vertical sliders, or sliding sash windows are becoming very popular - for more information on these, see our 'Vertical Sliders' page.

All our windows are fully compliant with building regulations, including those for fire escape requirements.

Colours

A multitude of colours and finishes are available, including the traditional white, wood effect in various shades and bold colours in a woodgrain finish. Dual colour window units are another alternative, where the interior and exterior of the window differ.

Security

Internal glazing can be provided on all our windows at no extra cost. This makes it more difficult for intruders to gain access to your home as the glass cannot be removed from the outside. All our sashes are also supplied with lockable handles.

Safety

For a family home with young children in it, child safety locks on windows can ease a worried parent's mind. These restrict the opening of the window sash so clambering tots cannot fall through.
